How To Have The Best Date Night At Home
Date nights are an essential aspect of maintaining a strong and healthy relationship. However, with busy schedules and limited budgets, it can be challenging to plan a romantic night out. But what if I told you that you don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home to enjoy a fun and intimate date night? That’s right, you can create special memories and strengthen your bond without ever leaving your living room. In this blog post, I will explore a variety of creative and budget-friendly date night ideas that can be done at home.

Indoor Putt Putt Golf
If one or both of you like to golf or enjoy the fun of putt-putt, then creating an at-home course is for you! A little friendly competition is always good for your relationship. It’s as easy as placing an order on Amazon and grabbing the putters out of the golf bag. This Putt Challenge Mini Golf Game from Amazon is around $30.
The best part about this date night is that you can also reuse the mini golf game for a family fun night. It could also be used to keep kids busy on a raining day inside. I love find ways to repurpose things.
Virtual Cooking Classes
Jeff and I enjoy cooking in the kitchen together on a daily basis. We’ve always talked about taking some cooking classes to try new recipes or learn new techniques. Virtual cooking classes are a great option because they’re done right in our own kitchen.
While there are so many different options for online cooking classes, I recommend “The Table Less Traveled.” They offer a wide variety of cuisine from around the world. Plus, you get to learn about the culture and personal stories behind the recipes from the chef. They give you the recipe and shopping list ahead of time so you can be prepared. These classes are interactive and a great experience.
Stream A Stand-up Comedy Special
If you are anything like Jeff and I, we have more than one streaming service. Most streaming services have stand up comedy specials for free. The best part is this doesn’t cost anything extra and there is no drink minimum. LOL.
I would highly recommend comedy specials on Netflix and HBO Max. You can find specials from Taylor Tomlinson, Dave Chappelle, Hannah Gadsby and Nate Bargatze. Here what is currently showing for comedy specials from Netflix.
YouTube Scavenger Hunt
This YouTube Scavenger Hunt is printable at home and free from The Dating Divas. If you haven’t checked out their site I highly encourage you to do so. They have tons of great ideas and fun articles to read on marriage.
The Dating Divas have done all the work for you. All you have to do is print out the instructions and supplies. There’s even an online “invitation” you can send to your significant other inviting them to the date.
Jeff and I are all about easy and fun dates we can do after the kids go to bed. This one is a great one to get you laughing, sharing, and connecting about something other than the kids!
Wine & Canvas Paint Night w
Have you ever wanted to try a wine and canvas night but couldn’t get a babysitter or didn’t want to paint in front of people? Maybe your significant other thinks that paint is not their thing?
Online classes makes it so easy to do a wine and canvas night right in our own home. It takes about 1-2 hours and they have so many choices. They will also give you a list of supplies that you can buy on Amazon. When you purchase a virtual painting class you will get a link to a video with a person painting with you. Jeff is a tech guy so he hooked up our laptop to a tv but you could easily do with just a laptop or iPad.
Here are the supplies I ordered off Amazon: canvas, acrylic paint and paintbrushes I used a dollar store plastic table cloth to cover the table and paper plates for paint trays. I always look for ways to save a little money.
“Surprise” Food Delivery
If you live in an area where you can have food delivered or if you don’t have time to pick up take out then this might be a fun date. You start by deciding on a restaurant as a couple. I would recommend a new place that you haven’t had before. The idea here is that you see how well you know your partner by selecting food that they might like to try. You each place a delivery order for the other person but keep what you ordered a surprise. Then share the meal together when your food shows up. Do you trust your partner to pick your food?
Play “36 Questions to Fall In Love”
Do you think you could fall in love with somebody or fall deeper in love with them by asking just 36 questions? Dare to try? The New York Times released a set of 36 questions to ask if you want to fall in love. There is no setup required, no logging in and it’s free! It says it takes about an hour but I think it’s more important to answer the questions well and not worry about how long it takes. Grab a snack and your favorite beverage and get started!
I hope this list has given you some great ideas for date night at home. I also encourage you to share this post with the other couples in your life. Strong, healthy families start with strong healthy marriages!
Happy Dating!
